Rippey Street Co-Housing

Project Description

Lab 8 Designs with Bryan Bowen Architects is working the East Liberty Development on the Master Planning for the Rippey Street Co-Housing Development. The Co-Housing Development is looking to convert an existing apartment building into a co-housing community.

The co-housing community would be one of the first in the Pittsburgh Area and would be comprised of 12-14 residences. In addition to the residential spaces, the development would include community focused features for the residents. These features may include a community kitchen and dining space, a community  lounge, rooftop garden, vegetable garden, childrens play area, and exterior patios.

In addition to the community features, the design includes various sustainable features such as a green roof, solar panels, rainwater collection, and possible ground source heat pumps.
